In the Samburu region of Kenya, girls as young as ten are married off to much older men as child brides. Before their wedding day, they undergo Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). Although this practice violates international law and Kenya’s constitution, local chiefs and communities continue this barbaric evil with virtual impunity. Our office in Africa has helped to rescue girls who were living in this nightmare. And we are engaged in multiple court cases to bring the perpetrators to justice.
