Save Irene Ibrahim Shehata
Save Irene Ibrahim Shehata
A 21-year-old Christian woman, Irene Ibrahim Shehata, was abducted and forced to convert to Islam in Egypt. We’re demanding an investigation from the U.N. and Egypt to find and free her. Irene suddenly disappeared during midterm exams. She then bravely stole her captor’s phone and tearfully pleaded for her life in a desperate call to her brother. Her captor ripped the phone from her hands and told her brother, “Okay, you heard her voice and know she’s okay, right? Now go to hell!”

Egypt's Christians
Egyptian Christians Under Attack
Egypt's Christians -- the largest Christian community in the Middle East -- is on the brink. Jihadists are killing Christians, burning churches, and destroying Christian homes and property. Left unprotected, Egypt's Christians face ever-greater persecution, leading to wholesale "cleansing" from Egypt and perhaps even mass killings. The ACLJ is directly engaged, fighting to protect the religious liberty -- a basic human right -- of one of the world's oldest faith communities.
