Free the Israeli Hostages from Hamas

Today marks one month since the brutal attack on Israel resulted in 1,400 innocent Israelis murdered and over 200 abducted hostages. As today’s broadcast aired, my dad, ACLJ Chief Counsel Jay Sekulow, my brother, ACLJ Executive Director Jordan Sekulow, and other members of the ACLJ team were in Washington, D.C., meeting with the families of hostages who are currently being held in Gaza.

The ACLJ met with leadership on both sides of the aisle on Capitol Hill. In fact, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (LA-4) even formally recognized my dad, brother, and the ACLJ. And make no mistake, in doing so, Speaker Johnson was also recognizing all our ACLJ Champions who donate to our mission.

We can now officially announce the ACLJ is representing families of the hostages. The driving goal is to get these hostages home safely as quickly as possible. The number of families the ACLJ is representing continues to grow. The ACLJ is also preparing to go to the U.N. to expand its efforts to defend Israel and advocate on behalf of the hostages.

During the meeting with Speaker Johnson, pictures of the hostages were displayed as family members shared their heartbreaking stories of their missing loved ones. As I mentioned, both Republicans and Democrats are working with the ACLJ on the hostages’ behalf. It’s encouraging to  see a unified effort in Congress to save these individuals.

On the flip side, how disgusting is it to see footage of radicals on Ivy League campuses tearing down pictures of the hostages and desecrating them as pro-Hamas demonstrations take place? How thoughtless and inhumane is such behavior?

And in Los Angeles yesterday, a pro-Hamas rally turned deadly. A group of pro-Israeli supporters confronted pro-Hamas demonstrators, and an elderly Jewish man holding a Star of David flag was killed. This is where we are in America right now: Pro-Hamas zealots are killing pro-Israeli supporters. And this took place in California – supposedly the stronghold of tolerance and inclusion.

Many in the media and world leaders (including President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken) have been calling for Israel to engage in a cease-fire. Yet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu just announced that a cease-fire will never take place as long as the hostages remain in Gaza.

Here at home our legal work continues to defend our right to vote. ACLJ Senior Counsel and Director of Policy Harry Hutchison joined the show to give the latest updates on the ACLJ’s ongoing efforts to ensure all Americans have the right to vote for their preferred candidate.

The ACLJ is filing to intervene on behalf of the Republican Party of Virginia against a 14th Amendment lawsuit that is seeking to keep President Trump off the state’s primary ballot. We are also filing an amicus brief in Michigan on behalf of the state’s GOP. As we told you, we are already representing the GOP in several other states. 

Professor Hutchison reminded us that the 14th Amendment was originally put in place following the Civil War to protect the Union from Confederate insurrectionists. President Trump has never even been officially charged with or convicted of insurrection, so this latest novel legal theory amounts to nothing more than election interference by the far Left.
